Statement Pieces

Statement Pieces

I love a statement. Anything that grabs your attention. Anything you wear with so much confidence passerbys do a double take. I love it.
The pants you see in the photo get me more complements than any other outfit I own.
I'm not usually a fan of leather, fur, etc... But these vintage leather hippie style bell-bottoms were calling me. They have a floral-ish print ingrained in them that is noticeable up close, but from a distance can't be seen. They have lace up sides that go all the way up and down the leg. Beautiful.  These gems were found at a consignment shop a few miles away from my house. I love snazzy pants, so these were a must. And what did I pay? THIRTY DOLLARS! I have never seen pants like this that cheap.

These pants are pretty extravagant in person, at least I feel that they are. All eyes are on the pants. Some might judge. I don't really care. And that, my friend, is how to pull them off.

Models on the runway wear CRAZY stuff. Seriously. Nobody says anything about it!
Confidence is key. You have to stand up straight, walk like you know exactly where you are going. Head up. In the words of Charlize Theron, "You have to come from your core, really tight, shoulders down, neck long, then just think 'murder' and walk."

Pairing some more laid back pieces can tone down your look, make it easier for the eye to handle. With this specific outfit, I paired my favorite off-white body suit (she will be missed), with some brown low top boots. Silver or gold accents go well with this. I'm more of a silver lover, so I opted for a small silver ring and diamond earrings.

They key to pulling off any look is confidence. If you aren't confident, fake it till' you feel it. People gravitate towards confident people.

So, that being said, go rock that outfit you've been to scared to wear!
